Abstract Submission Period for General Presentation
Abstract Preparation Instructions
Abstracts are required at the time of abstract submission for general presentation. If you wish to present in general sessions (Oral Presentation), Poster Presentation, and Young Researchers’ event, please submit items 1 to 6 through the Abstract Submission site (AWARD). Presentations can be made in both the general sessions and Young Reserchers' event.
After you have submitted your abstract, you will automatically receive an email notification. We will also send you an acceptance notification by mid-September. Please let us know if you do not receive any communication from the secretariat even though you have submitted your abstract.
1. Preferred presentation formats
Please choose the presentation format from the following:
- Oral presentation (Japanese) that will be held at the venue (face-to-face)
- Oral presentation (English) that will be held at the venue (face-to-face)
- Poster presentation (Japanese or English) will be held at the venue (face-to-face)
- Young researchers’ event (only in Japanese) will be held at Yakuō-in Yūkiji Temple, Mount Takao (face-to-face)
Please note that the presentation format may not meet your request due to the executive and program committees. Oral presentations are scheduled for 15 minutes, including Q&A and turnarounds, on November 10th from 9:40 to 16:25 or November 11th from 9:00 to 17:15. Presentation times may change depending on the number of submitted papers. Poster presentations and Q&A are scheduled for 80 minutes on November 10th from 17:20 to 18:40 and November 11th from 13:10 to 14:30.
2. Title of presentation
The title should be written within 120 characters.
3. Abstract Preparation Instructions
We strongly recommend downloading the template file from this website and overwriting it according to the following instructions for preparing abstracts.
✔ | Manuscripts must be one page in PDF format with embedded fonts. |
✔ | Use A4-size paper with margins of 30 mm at the top and 25 mm at the bottom and left/right, respectively. |
✔ | Write the title of your presentation (Helvetica or Arial font, font size: 14 pt) and insert a blank line (10.5 pt) below it. The title should be written within two lines. |
✔ | Affiliations and authors' names (Times or Times New Roman font size: 10.5 pt) should be written. Line breaks between affiliation(s) and name(s). The first author must be the presenting author, and a “○” symbol should precede the name. If there are multiple authors with different affiliations, use superscript numbers. |
✔ | Insert a blank line and type the main text from line 8. |
✔ | The text should be written in Times or Times New Roman font (10.5 pt). If you use figures or tables, please insert them with captions into the manuscript. |
✔ | >Write the contact information, including Tel, FAX, and E-mail in English at the bottom of the page. Use Times or Times New Roman font (10.5 pt.). |

Eligibility for Abstract Submission
Presenters must be members of the Japanese Society for Biomaterials(JSB). If you are planning to make a presentation and are not a member, please join the Japanese Society for Biomaterials before abstract submission and obtain a membership.
Please select a regular or student member of the Japanese Society for Biomaterials at the time of abstract submission.

About the JSB Outstanding Poster Award(2025)
To apply for the award, please complete the abstract submission form.
Please click here for the rules and regulations of the award (in Japanese only).
All the applicants are requested to obtain membership in the JSB before the abstract submission. Without your membership at the time of abstract submission, you are not eligible for the JSB Outstanding Poster Award (2025).
Please let me know if there are any periods during which you were engaged in clinical work, or periods of leave or time off work that should be excluded from your research history, such as childbirth, childcare, nursing care, or military service.
Also, please enter your comments in the remarks column when you cannot present.
Please note that all multiple entries by the same presenter will be disqualified.
Presentations for the poster award will generally be held on November 10th, 2025, but please note that in the event of many applicants, the presentation may be held on November 11th, 2025.
The results of the Best Poster Award will be announced at the closing ceremony on November 11th, and certificates will be presented. However, please note that in the event of many applicants, the awards' announcement and presentation may be postponed until after the meeting.
Young researchers’ event “Japan Society for Biomaterials Meeting for Challengers at Mt. Takao”
The official language of this event is Japanese. See the instructions for the application on the Japanese website.
About the declaration of the Conflict of Interest (COI)
A necessary declaration of the conflict of interest should also be present, the COI declaration on the second page of the slide (next to the title slide).
Please note that when a conflict of interest needs to be declared, it should be limited to only those directly related to your presentation.

Abstract submission site (AWARD)
Those who wish to submit their abstracts should move to the abstract submission site (AWARD) to complete their submission. You must create a new account to log in to the AWARD system.
Read the manual if you have a problem creating an account or submitting.
- You may be unable to submit your abstract depending on your computer environment. If you cannot submit your abstract, please try submitting it from another computer in a different environment.
- Please note that the online systems will be busy just before the abstract submission deadline, so please register as soon as possible. The secretariat assumes no responsibility for incomplete or inadequate abstract submissions due to congestion.
- The secretariat will not be held responsible for any information entered incorrectly by the contributors. Before clicking the "Register" button, please check that the contents are correct.
