Presentation Guidelines

Invited lectures, symposiums, educational lectures, award lectures, “English presentation skills” learning with Prof. Kohn, and general session (oral presentation)

  1. Items to be prepared by the presenter
    • Laptop for your presentation
    • (Note) The connection cable with an HDMI connector will be available at the venue. If you need a converter (such as a USB Type-C to HDMI adapter), please bring your own. The secretariat will not provide converters or laptop AC adapters.
    • Please also bring your presentation data saved on a USB flash drive in case of any issues.
    • The aspect ratio of the screen will be 16:9. Slides with a 4:3 ratio can be projected, but the screen will be reduced in size, so slides with a 16:9 ratio are recommended.
  2. Items to be provided by the secretariat
    • LCD projector
    • HDMI connection cable
    • Laser pointer
  3. Presentation procedures
    (Rooms B, C, and D)
    1. Start your computer and open your presentation file.
    2. Before the previous presentation begins, pass your computer to the operator located under the stage at the front of the room.
    3. Check with the operator to see if there are any problems with the computer’s video output.
    4. Make a presentation using the mouse and keyboard on the podium.
    5. After finishing your presentation, pick up your computer at the location where you checked the video output.
    ※Please note that Presenter View in PowerPoint is not available for use.
    (Rooms E, F, and G)
    1. Start your computer and open the presentation file.
    2. Once the previous presentation is finished, connect the HDMI cable to your computer.
    3. Switch your computer to external video output.
    4. Give your presentation.
    5. After your presentation, promptly disconnect the HDMI cable.
  4. (Note) Please be sure to take a seat in the next speaker's area at the front of the venue before your presentation time and prepare for your presentation with ample time to spare.

    Please ensure you arrive on time so that the program can proceed smoothly.

  6. Additional information
    1. Oral presenters are requested to declare any conflicts of interest (COI) for the lead presenter on the second page of their slides (next to the title slide). Please note that only those matters directly related to this presentation should be included.     2. The secretariat will not provide computers for presentations.
    3. Please note that presentation times cannot be extended due to computer problems.
    4. There will be no places for previewing your slides, so please check the projection and connection during free time in each room (before the presentation begins, during breaks, etc.).
    5. For studies involving animals, researchers must design appropriate experimental protocols with due consideration for animal welfare. Proper care and housing of the animals must be ensured throughout the entire research period. Presenters are also requested to exercise due consideration for animal welfare when preparing presentation materials and selecting photographs for publication.

General session (poster presentation)

  1. Venue for poster presentation
    • Presentations will be held in Room A. There will be no registration desk.
    • Poster presentations will be held on the following two days:
      Monday, November 10th: Presentation number from “2P-001” to “2P-138”
      Tuesday, November 11th: Presentation number from “3P-001” to “3P-101”
  2. Poster attachment
    • Monday, November 10th: 9:00-10:00
    • Tuesday, November 11th: 8:30-10:00
  3. Poster presentation time
    • Poster presentation time including Q&A are as follows:
      Monday, November 10th Odd numbered presentations: 17:20-18:00 (40 minutes)
      Even numbered presentations: 18:00-18:40 (40 minutes)
      Tuesday, November 11th Odd-numbered presentations: 13:10-13:50 (40 minutes)
      Even-numbered presentations: 13:50-14:30 (40 minutes)
    • During the presentation time, please wear a presenter’s ribbon and wait in front of your poster. Presenter’s ribbons will be distributed to each poster panel.
  4. Poster removal
    • Please remove your poster within the time indicated below. If it is not removed, it will be disposed of by the secretariat.

      Tuesday, November 11th, 16:00-17:30
  5. Poster panel
    • Panel size is 210cm high x 90cm wide (portrait).
    • The secretariat will post a number (15cm high x 20cm wide) in the upper left corner of each panel. Please display your poster on a panel with a presentation number starting with P (e.g., P-001). Push pins will be provided by the secretariat and distributed to each poster panel (taping is not permitted).
    • There are no restrictions on the inclusion of a photograph.
    • There are no restrictions on the space for titles such as the presentation title, presenter name, and affiliation.
