The EVTM initiative began in 2014, following a call by Dr. Tal Hörer. What started as a modest effort has since grown into a major movement, integrating endovascular techniques into trauma resuscitation, which had traditionally been dominated by surgical approaches.
Over the years, REBOA has played a central role in the development of EVTM. In addition, endovascular
treatments such as stent grafting and embolization have been widely discussed and adopted, further
expanding into areas such as ECMO and Hybrid ER. Trauma care is now evolving into a more comprehensive
and multidisciplinary field.
One of the most valuable aspects of EVTM is that it brings together professionals from diverse
specialties—including trauma surgeons, vascular surgeons, anesthesiologists, emergency physicians, and
interventional radiologists—to discuss shared goals and strategies. As a diagnostic radiologist, I have
always found it both meaningful and inspiring to be part of these discussions.
Historically, the role of diagnostic radiology in trauma resuscitation has been relatively limited.
However, I have consistently believed in its potential. With the understanding and support of Dr. Tal
Hörer and many colleagues, it is a great honor and pleasure to host the 10th anniversary EVTM Symposium
here in Japan.
I sincerely hope that this symposium will provide valuable insights and inspiration for all participants
and contribute to the continued advancement of trauma care.
I very much look forward to engaging in meaningful discussions with all of you.
We also look forward to welcoming you with Japanese hospitality ”OMOTENASHI” and cuisine.
Hybrid

Dear Colleagues,
It is my great pleasure and honor to invite you to the
EVTM (EndoVascular Resuscitation and Trauma Management) Symposium
, which will be held in Japan for the very first time. Following a
series of successful meetings in Sweden and the Pan-American region,
this milestone symposium marks a new chapter for the EVTM community
in advancing multidisciplinary trauma care across continents.
The EVTM Symposium
serves as a global platform for sharing
cutting-edge knowledge and innovative techniques
in emergency care,
trauma resuscitation, and endovascular treatment. This year’s
program is designed for healthcare professionals who are
deeply
engaged in the management of
non-compressible torso hemorrhage (NCTH)
and the extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) in
critical cases. In addition, participants can explore
advanced and practical strategies
including REBOA, endovascular procedures,
surgical approaches, and
embolization-based hybrid treatments
—all representing the forefront of modern trauma management.
And I believe that one of the highlights of this year’s
symposium
will be an
opportunity to visit one of Japan’s leading emergency
centers
and the pioneering Hybrid Emergency Room System (HERS).
Participants will gain invaluable insights into its operation
and
learn how such a system could be implemented or adapted within
their
own institutions.
We warmly welcome your participation in this meaningful
symposium.
Your engagement and shared expertise will undoubtedly enrich
discussions and help shape the future of trauma care in Asia
and
beyond.
Join us in this exciting and transformative journey of
innovation, collaboration, and excellence.
